Gianni Merlo, President of the International Sports Press Association (AIPS), had an interview with the Official Website of the 16th Asian Games on November 27, the last day of the Games.

During the interview, Mr Merlo showed his great interest in the Official Website of the the Games, saying it is a proof of sports reporting by the new media. "New media is the future," said Mr Merlo with much confidence. He said it is convenient for people to find information about the Games on the Official Website. Meanwhile, he emphasised that the Guangzhou Asian Games is a high-level sporting event. "It is good for Asian athletes, especially for the young athletes. The Games will be a chance for them to change their lives."
