Telford Secures Trade Furnishers Show From 2011

The International Centre in Telford will host a national furnishers trade exhibition in 2011 after the association behind it opted to move from its former home.

The Minerva Furnishers Guild runs two tradeshows every year, both previously at the National Motorcycle Exhibition Centre in Solihull. Its spokesperson, Roy Beagent, said a call for more exhibition space, driven by a rapid rise in members, was the catalyst for moving its May show to Telford.

“The May show will host around 70 exhibition stands, which is a significant increase in exhibitor numbers, and sets a real platform for future progress, building on the high standards we have already set,” he said. “Our shows are major events in the furniture industry’s calendar, and our first event at Telford will feature the latest designs in a wide range of upholstery, beds, dining and occasional furniture, incorporating pictures, mirrors and lighting.”

The event takes place at The International Centre from 25 to 26 May 2011. CEO of the venue's owner, Tom Gray, labelled the show a furniture industry landmark.

“We’re very pleased they have recognised the flexibility of our event space which gives them the capacity to grow their event still further in the future,” he said.

Last month, the organiser for Promota announced it will relocate the promotional merchandise show to Telford from The NEC.
