Jiangsu Recorded a Trade Surplus of US$5.33billion in January

China's Jiangsu Province saw its import and export value grow 33.9% year on year or decreased 1.6% month on month to US$43.61 billion in January this year, according to the latest statistics from local customs.

 

The province's exports increased 29.8% year on year to US$24.47 billion in January, while its imports rose 39.7% year on year to US$19.14 billion. It recorded a trade surplus of US$5.33 billion in January, 3.5% more than the same period of last year.

 

In January, export value of mechanical and electronics products surged 23.3% year on year to US$16.26 billion, while that of high-tech products grew 14% year on year to US$10.01 billion.The province exported US$1.11 billion of ships last month, up 55.3% year on year or 70.8% month on month, and it exported US$580 million of steel products, surging 47.3% compared with the same period of last year.

 

Foreign-funded enterprises saw their export and import value surge 27.1% year on year to US$31.16 billion, accounting for 71.5% of the province's total exports and imports.
