The Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region in China plans to invest a total of around RMB 14 billion in the development of 29 new energy projects this year.
The 29 projects will include 23 wind power projects, which will cost RMB 12 billion in total and are designed to have a total installed capacity of 1.53 gigawatts, according to the region's Development and Reform Commission.
The remaining six of the 29 projects are expected to produce 100 megawatts of photovoltaic products per year with a total investment of about RMB 2 billion.
As of Apr. 6, 2011, Ningxia has a total of 4.7 GW of wind power projects under operation or under construction, and the region's solar power capacity has totaled 1.12 GW.
By the end of 2015, Ningxia aims to install around 5 GW capacity of wind power facilities
