China's domestic PV market is expected to be launched in a large scale during the ‘twelfth five-year-plan’ period (2011-2015), and the PV industry is also expected to usher in its golden period of development.
This prediction roots from the information disclosed by Li Junfeng, deputy director of the Energy Research Institute of the National Development and Reform Commission, namely the Chinese national energy policy strategy think-tank organ, on May 5. He said that, the Twelfth Five-Year-Plan for Photovoltaic Power Generation compiled by National Energy Administration has affirmatively increased the installed capacity target for PV ‘twelfth five-year’ to 10GW, and by 2020, the PV installed capacity target may be significantly raised to 50GW.
