A unique exhibition for individuals with professional security clearance has chalked up double the number of attendees expected for its first event.
The Security Cleared Expo was held at The Royal Horticultural Halls and Conference Centre in Westminster and took place on 21 October. According to the organiser, Security Cleared Jobs, over 1,200 attended the one-day expo, which aimed to provide clients and recruitment agencies with an opportunity to meet professionals with DV, SC, CTC or NATO security clearance in a dedicated recruitment environment.
Lead organiser, Sean Smyth, said feedback was positive from exhibitors and visitors. The Security Cleared Jobs site was launched by Smyth and a couple of colleagues in January 2007.
“The need for security cleared personnel in the UK continues to grow and along with it the demand for candidates,” Smyth said. “Our exhibitors were surprised at how high-level the people who attended were.”
Smyth told EN Westminster was chosen through an industry survey as the best place to hold an exhibition, based on the number of central government agencies in the area. The expo consisted of a centralised stand area, along with a separate, seated interview space.
The organiser is now considering a similar expo in Bristol in April next year.
