Sydney Mardi Gras Festival, the biggest homosexuality festival in the world, is held at the end of February every year. Whatever your sexual orientation is, however old you are, you will loe this festival and appreciate the amazing charm of it. Fair Day marks the beginning of the celebrations. The festival is a large social party at Sydney Inner West.
The two-week-long festival reaches its climax with hilarious activities on three weekends. You can either follow the parade or go for the Harbour Party at Royal Botanic Gardens. Ever since 2010, the main party with many light shows from international DJs and performers has been held on the last weekend.
Throughout the whole celebrations, Sydney is bathed in a festive atmosphere. Visitors can appreciate musical theatre,comedies, music and theatrical performances at Sydney Opera House or other playhouses at Marrickville or Parramatta. On Mardi Gras Film Festival, you can watch queer movies.
